Non-Profit Organizations
Organizing a non-profit can be much more complex than a traditional for-profit corporation. The laws governing the creation, operation and dissolution of non-profits is significantly different than for profit-making entities. and require a significant amount of knowledge of non-profit standards and best practices. Without the assistance of an experienced non-profit organization attorney, successfully obtaining tax-exempt status can be extremely difficult.
Thomas J. Sullivan worked with non-profit organizations for over 45 years. From the time he began his legal practice in 1980, he set up, worked with, and advised numerous non-profit corporations, and helped many of them to obtain tax exempt status from the IRS. Mr. Sullivan is an active member of our community, and has served and continues to serve on many local non-profit boards, committees, and citizen advisory groups. Mr. Sullivan's additional areas of practice included Real Estate Law, Small Business Law and Wills, Probates & Trusts.
